Our client is looking for an Associate or Senior Associate Attorney who will join the Workers' Compensation Defense team. The ideal candidate will have a background in workers' compensation law, excellent legal research and writing skills, and the ability to manage a caseload independently. There will be an on-site portion in the beginning (in Los Angeles) for onboarding purposes. Thereafter, the Associate Attorney may work fully remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in workers' compensation defense cases from inception through resolution.
- Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses.
- Attend and represent clients in depositions, hearings, trials, and mediations.
- Advise clients on legal rights, obligations, and strategies related to workers' compensation claims.
- Develop and implement case strategies in collaboration with clients and senior attorneys.
- Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and colleagues.
- Stay current on changes in workers' compensation laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
- 2-5 years of experience (for Associate level) or 5+ years of experience (for Senior Associate level) in workers' compensation defense or related field.
- Strong understanding of workers' compensation laws and regulations.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience with case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
